Emergence: Connecting Art, Consciousness and Ecology

An open submission for artists

Emergence: Connecting Art, Consciousness and Ecology
An exhibition at the Cultivate Centre

The Cultivate Centre for sustainable living and learning in Dublin's Temple Bar invites submissions from artists for an exhibition within a festival entitled, 'Emergence - Connecting Art, Consciousness and Ecology'. This exhibition will take place from the 27th of November to the 22nd of December and selected pieces will feature on a CD ROM learning resource that Cultivate is producing.

The theme of this exhibition is art that inspires and stimulates action in response to the issues of biodiversity, climate change and energy scarcity. Any artwork embracing these themes will be considered. Cultivate seeks proposals in all media from local, national and international artists offering challenging viewpoints on these themes, incorporating diverse and innovative approaches that explore the definition and boundaries of these issues.

Artists provide perspectives that can differ in important ways from those of scientists and environmentalists. This exhibition will allow us to focus in on the particular contribution that art can and does make, as well as creating space for a dialogue with wider constituencies about shared concerns.

Indoor and outdoor exhibition space is available. There is no funding attached to this exhibition, however all artists selected will be given passes for the festival and an opportunity to sell their work.

Deadline for submission Friday the 17th of November.
